Statistics show how common fireworks injuries are in the U.S. each year.
The American Pyrotechnics Association reports more than 9000 people nationwide are seriously injured by fireworks every year. Forty-percent of those injuries are due to illegal fireworks. Each year, fireworks kill approximately four people.
Fireworks also contribute to more than 20,000 fires every year.
