A Hubbard family was left homeless after fire ripped through their home Tuesday night.
Seven people, three adults and four children, were inside the home at the time of the fire. All were able to escape unharmed.
The fire broke out around 11 p.m. on Homewood Avenue in Hubbard Township. The fire chief said kids heard a noise from the trailer located next to the house.
When crews arrived, the trailer and home were engulfed in flames. The fire chief said the home appears to be a total loss.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with shelter. One Hubbard Township firefighter was treated at St. Elizabeth's for heat exhaustion and has since been released.
The investigation into an official cause will resume Wednesday morning. Initial reports indicate that the cause is accidental, the chief said.
