It was Oct. 17 when the family of 23-year-old Donovan Toles filed a missing persons report with Warren police.
The father of two young children could not be located, and his mother hadn't heard from him.
"Others were telling us he was OK and he had gone somewhere, but as time went on doubt in our minds as to where he was because it wasn't like him to not be calling someone," said Walter Toles, a relative of Donovan's.
And on Saturday, what they feared might have happened came true. His body was found in a wooded area off of Hamilton Street S.W.
The Trumbull County Coroner's Office has ruled his death a homicide and that he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Now, police and family members are looking for answers, wanting to know what happened to Donovan.
"We are asking for the public's help and if they have any information to please contact us," said detective Sgt. Jeff Cole.
Walter Toles agrees.
"It is so sad," Toles said. "I hope if anyone knows anything they will come forward so we can have some closure. We would like justice."
It was the city's ninth homicide of the year.
