The Mahoning County Auditor's office is one of just nine agencies across Northeast Ohio trying to win part of a $300,000 grant to pay for an improved county-wide computer network.

Mike Sciortino showed off the county's internet server hub on Tuesday.  He and his staff have put together the "Mahoning-Youngstown Regional Information System" or "MYRIS."

He's looking to offer local communities and agencies the chance to tie-in to the county's internet-technology system, hoping the grant money will further the process.  Sciortino says local governments and agencies could save money by tying into the county's IT resources and not having to invest in their own.

To vote for this project, go to www.efficientgovnow.org.  The deadline is July 31.
