Police say a young girl was raped while walking to school.

A 54-year-old man is in Campbell jail charged with the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl. Police say Charles Hudson of Campbell approached the victim with a knife while she was on her way to school Monday morning. He then allegedly took her to an abandoned house on Gordon Street and sexually assaulted her.

Hudson was arraigned in Campbell court Tuesday morning. His bond has been set at $500,000.

These days all kids should be buses or have a parent with them... I have been praying for this young girl... I was raped as a virgin and the Lord healed me from all the damage..I pray God's protection over my family and friends..

CMHSmom I currently have a child at Memorial High and think they should be bused. That was a shame of what she had to go through. My child was stopped and hijacked 2 times on the way home from CMHS. Cops know who they are and still they are not brought in for arrest. It also happens in school, stealing. That man should have never been let out of jail in the first place.

Personally I dont know why they dont bus the kids either... I think its a shame what this child had to go through.. I lived in Campbell for nearly 20yrs and have seen the highs and lows of this city.. The cops just dont care, they let drug use go on about the streets and they're too over weight to even try and run after a attacker.. As for aka scumbag... I say an eye for an eye... Let him die the way he raped her.. The only change I would make is having him raped by a sadistic gorrilla and then cheese grated and dipped in tobasco sauce afterwards!!

So sad. I grew up in Campbell and had to walk to school myself but I never worried about things like that happening back then. I'm glad they caught the scumbag so quickly or Campbell may have had a serial rapist to worry about. I just hope they keep him locked up and punish hime swiftly and harshly. My prayers go out the victim, her friends and family.

I personally have a child in the high school & I think it is absolutely ridiculous that the city of Campbell can't bus these children! What are my tax dollars paying for & why did we pass a school levy??? For such a small city there is no reason why we can't get all children bused! Other cities are able to do it.

thank god she is alive!! and that she remembered enough about this dog, that they were able to catch him and get him off the street before he could destroy another childs life!!

thank god she is alive, and remembered enough to get this dog off the streets, so he can no longer hurt anyone again. he is the worse of all humans!!

I would say sit his butt in jail for life but this would suck up tax dollars on a pointless guy. I think we should open up the Death Penalty!

Bond!!?? 500,000 is a joke! this poor child's innocence can't be brought back with any amount of money. I say his A@@ should sit in jail....for life, where they deal with people like himself in their own way!
