Boardman Woman in Court for Stealing from Employer

A former secretary of a Youngstown business was arraigned Tuesday after being accused of stealing from her employer.

Lori Lamb, of Boardman, is out on $10,000 bond on a theft charge in

Lamb is accused of stealing more than $150,000 dollars from Morris Drain Service, a family-owned company.
    
The business owners said evidence points to Lamb stealing money through an elaborate scheme, which included forging checks.
    
In all, the Morris family said they can prove that Lamb stole at least $175,000 between January 2008 and February 2011. Lamb is scheduled for trial in August.

we all know the outcome in this, just like the rest or the people that steal...Pay it back, slap on the wrist...Case closed

I realize this is a "family" business (wouldn't you like to be fly on the wall at their next reunion!) but one thing that would contribute significantly to controlling business expense (read prices) would be to have more companies prosecute employee theft. By some accounts employee theft adds almost 1% to EACH retail transaction in the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrinkage_(accounting)
