It was an early morning for shoppers around the Valley.
Retailers report Friday's crowds were bigger than last year.
One thing....shoppers were ready early to look for marked down Black Friday items like toys and TVs.
A snowy start to Black Friday didn't damper the spirits of nearly a thousand people who waited for the doors to open at 5 a.m. for deals at Best Buy in Boardman. The most popular items up for grabs included laptops and HD-TVs.
A laptop with a blu-ray disc player is what got Rob Whyman of North Lima to wait in line for 9 hours. "I got what I wanted and I was very happy. They actually ran out of the laptop five people behind me, so I was really ecstatic that I got it."
Fran Clark from Poland said, "Just good deals. You wake up early. It's kinda fun. You talk to people. It's a little cold, but it works out good. You save a lot of money." This is her fourth year waking up early for the Black Friday deals. Clark and her son started at Best Buy and made their way over to Old Navy. She said it's worth the time and effort.
Old Navy at the Shops at Boardman Park opened its doors at 3 a.m. The lines wrapped through the store up to the checkout counters for hours.
Experts predict weekend sales will be about the same as last year.
