Rita Cosby was a guest speaker at Youngstown State University Tuesday promoting her new book, "Quiet Hero".
The Emmy award-winning TV host and best-selling author has hosted several shows on the Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and Inside Edition.
Cosby says she started writing the book when she came across pieces of her father's never-talked about past, as a member of the Polish Resistance, and the time he spent in a German POW camp.
"I feel like of all the interviews I've done in my life, this was the toughest interview to get, by far," said Cosby. "My dad at first, of course, was very reluctant to talk about it, because I think two reasons-- one, so humble, because he feels like he was just doing his job when he was fighting for freedom, and fighting against the Nazis...and then on the other hand, it was so painful for him, because he lost about 80 percent of his men in his unit."
Proceeds from Cosby's book will go to help troops around the world.
