Two more arsons over the weekend have neighbors in the New Castle area on edge.

The first one was started at a home on Cleveland Avenue, from which residents recently moved out.  The second took place at an abandoned house in the 400 block of South Walnut Street.

The New Castle City Fire Marshal continues to investigate.

Firefighters have been called to dozens of fires at vacant homes over the past year throughout New Castle.  Concerned residents have held neighborhood-watch meetings in hopes of coming up with a plan to look out for arsonists.  The next meeting is Monday July 13 at 6:30pm at the I Care House.  New Castle officials have also established an arson tip line.  Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call 724-656-3067.
