With yet another positive report from the U.S. Labor Department, area Democratic leaders are praising the efforts of President Obama in getting Americans back to work.

Several state lawmakers stood outside the offices of Turning Technologies in downtown Youngstown, touting the latest jobless figures released Friday morning, claiming the nation's unemployment rate fell last month to 8.3 percent.

State Rep. Bob Hagan of Youngstown said the Mahoning Valley's own economy also has improved, giving credit to the Obama administration's programs.

"And I'm happy that this Valley is starting to see the renewal again. If you just look behind us, the street is full, the cars are here, and right behind us are people that are working from all over the country that have made the Valley their home," Hagan, D-60th, said.

The lawmakers said Obama policies have helped spur that resurgence, citing V & M Star, which utilized federal stimulus money, and General Motors in Lordstown, which benefited from the bailout for U.S. automakers.

"I think all of us, particularly in this Valley, have benefited tremendously from his involvement and all of us should be happy. And I'm happy too that this Valley is starting to see the revival again," Hagan said.

They had better thank the mills that are making the pipe for all of the oil and gas companies that are drilling new wells. The same wells that Hagan, and Obama want to outlaw. Do you see what kind of idiots get elected around here? I despise Hagan more, and more every day.
