A surprising twist in the race for Mahoning County Sheriff.

The state Supreme Court has ruled that Democratic Challenger David Aey cannot run for the position in the March Primary.  The ruling comes after Sheriff Randall Wellington appealed a ruling by the Mahoning County Board of Elections that said he could run.  Wellington has insisted that Aey does not have the qualifications for the position.
