Officials in the Austintown School District said they have thoroughly cleaned the middle school after two athletes contracted a staph infection.

The athletes came down with the staph on Monday.

Extra cleaning crews were brought in Tuesday and Wednesday to clean the locker room and give the entire building a scrub down.

A fogger disinfectant that kills staph was also released in the building.

Superintendent Vincent Colaluca said they are still not sure where the students picked the staph up but said the two athletes have been treated and are doing fine.

Heard it was MRSA....were the buses cleaned as well? All of these students share the same buses as well as the same school.
