Struthers native Jake Giuriceo's six-round fight with Henri White ended in a "Majority Draw" Saturday night at the Beeghly on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Giuriceo entered the ring wearing white and red mismatched socks for sixth professional fight, which was part of the Pavlik-Espino card. The tough fight was the most difficult of Giuriceo's young career to date.

A third-round blow by Giuriceo opened up a cut under White's eye, but in the sixth round White returned the favor with a shot that forced Giuriceo's eye to close.

The Campbell Memorial graduate finished the bout with an amazing flurry of big shots.  When the final bell sounded, Trainer Keith Burnside picked jumped into the ring and lifted Giuriceo which brought about a thunderous ovation from the Youngstown crowd.

Final scoring had one judge's card awarding the victory to Giuriceo 58-56, with the other two cards calling the fight even at 57-57, which led to the "majority draw" ruling.

Giuriceo's record now stands at 5-0-1, and was extremely disappointed when the final result was announced: "I felt like I won every single round," he told reporters afterward.

White's record now stands at 4-4-2.
