Another defendant indicted as part of the Oakhill Renaissance investigation made his way to the Mahoning County Justice Center.
Former Mahoning County Treasurer John Reardon, along with Atty. Louis DeFabio, showed up at Reardon's scheduled time Friday afternoon for processing. Reardon faces corruption, bribery and other charges in connection with his alleged role in the purchase of Oakhill four years ago.
While at the jail, Reardon once again insisted he is not guilty.
"And I am very confident, and I have faith that ultimately there will be a positive outcome and that the truth will prevail," Reardon said.
"Years ago he stood up and did the right thing on Oakhill," DeFabio said. "Voiced his opposition. The result of that was a years-long investigation and by years i mean multi-years, leading to this at the end of the day."
Reardon is one of seven named in a 73-count indictment, accusing elected officials and business leaders of conspiring to prevent the county's Department of Job and Family Services from leaving the McGuffy Mall and moving into Oakhill, which the county was trying to purchase.
