Well-known Valley developer Anthony Cafaro Sr. appeared at the Mahoning County Justice Center Thursday morning for booking after being indicted as part of the alleged Oakhill Renaissance corruption case.
Cafaro spent about an hour at the jail being booked on his charges, which includes being finger printed and having his mug shot taken. He along with his attorney, Jerry Johnson, addressed the accusations of his conspiring with county officials to keep Job and Family Services at the McGuffy Mall, which he owns, instead of moving to Oakhill.
Cafaro said he's innocent of all charges.
"I am also very confident that the others, the other people that have been charged in this indictment, they also are not guilty," Cafaro said. "In due course, I believe that we will all be vindicated."
Cafaro's sister Flora, County Auditor Mike Sciortino, Commissioner John McNally and attorney Martin Yavorcik were processed Wednesday.
Former County Treasurer John Reardon is expected to appear Friday morning. Former JFS Director John Zachariah has been out of the country and is expected to report later this month.
