The Youngstown Better Business Bureau has compiled a list of charitable organizations that are involved in the relief effort to Haiti. If you want to donate, all the organizations listed have met BBB standards for legitimacy and performance.
"Beware of groups that are collecting money on behalf of an organization," said Melissa Ames, of Youngstown's Better Business Bureau. "You may want to give to that organization directly. There are lots of groups that are willing to take this cause up, but they may not know what exactly is necessary on the ground in Haiti."
