Hi,My name is Marie Sullivan,i think you do great stories for our county and was wondering if you would be interested in mine.I have a 10 year old daughter who was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in june of 09,the info for rett just came to the USA in 83.Needless to say alot of doctors and pt's and teachers have no idea what this is and i try to explain, but feel that no one really gets it.I have been trying to get her a custom wheelchair to fit her needs and was denied the first time,I'm in the process once again, praying it goes through this time.Rett is a mutation in the MECP2 gene causing the mainly girls to be born normal and by the age two all changes, they stop wanting toys and loss their talking alot never walk or eat.1 in every 10,000 female births a Rett angel is born yet us parents fight everyday the girls need 24 hour care.My daughter is kara-lynn and went through several surgeries in 2010 causing her to loss her walking that she did have for 7 years ,with rett comes alot of losses its like the worst autism, parkinson,CP,and seizures wrapped in 1 little girl who cant talk. If you would like the story and could help us get some rett awareness out there it would be great and thank you for your time.kara is having a bennifit run aug.6th at power house bar and gill in warren at noon to help raise awareness and get supplies she deprately needs.thank you my email is mariesullivan.hodges@gmail.com and phone number is (330)553-5920 hope to hear from you thank tou Marie Sullivan
