Kirstie recently graduated cum laude from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Meteorology specialization.  She has been forecasting for Southeastern Ohio at WOUB the PBS affiliate station at Ohio University for 3 years.   She is from Eastlake, Ohio near Cleveland and is excited to combine her love of reporting and forecasting here as a video journalist.

Currently she is continuing her education at Mississippi State University where she is completing their distance learning program to obtain her Broadcast Meteorology Certificate.

Kirstie has always been fascinated with the weather and remembers pretending to storm chase on her bicycle as a little girl.  Telling the story of a community is very important to her.  In her free time she loves to cook, try new foods, explore the outdoors and spend time with her family and friends.

Why does this idiot insist on pronouncing "Warm" like farm? I have never heard anyone in my entire life pronounce warm like that. It is so annoying.

Kirstie did a great job reporting on the AFS students who came to this area. The kids were all excited to see the news and send the links to their friends in parents in all the foreign countries the represented. Thank you Kirstie for your interest and great job interviewing everyone! Brad Smith
