Paul Wetzl
Paul Wetzl, a Youngstown native, came to 27 First News in 1998 from WTOK-TV 11 in Meridian, Misssissippi and CNN Local Edition in Starkville, Mississippi. He is the weekend meteorologist and newest member of the 27 First News Weather Team.
Paul was born July 14th, 1975 in Youngstown, and graduated from United Local H.S. in 1993. He then left to attend Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences with an emphasis on Meteorology.
Paul is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
After spending 5 years in hot and humid Mississippi, Paul was happy to return back home to Northeast Ohio. He enjoys the challenge of forecasting in an area, which receives all types of weather, including lake effect snow. Paul enjoys anything to do with the weather, including storm chasing and working within the agricultural world.
