Whitney Ward
Whitney joins the 27 First News and FOX 17/62 team after working in Bismarck, North Dakota for KFYR-TV. She is the 5PM anchor on 27 First News, and co-anchor at 6PM and 11PM on 27 First News. Whitney completed numerous internships and part-time jobs at KING-5 in Seattle, KAYU FOX 28 in Spokane and Cable 8 in Pullman. She is a graduate of Washington State University, where she received her B.A. in Communication - Broadcast Journalism.
Whitney states, "Reporting truly is my first love, and it's the reason I chose this profession. It seems, each and every person has amazing experiences and tremendous stories to tell . . . and I truly feel it's an honor to help share them with others." She loves meeting new people, getting out of the office and hearing people's stories.
Whitney dedicates time to M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) which became very important to her after being hit by a drunk driver. She is very active and enjoys traveling, reading, skiing, rollerblading and walking her dog.
